A Madhouse
April 28, 2007
We went to the Toys R Us warehouse sale yesterday with Jean and Grace. It was a madhouse. You can read more about our experience at Jean’s. I saw a really nice big dollhouse when we were in the queue and I was contemplating to get it. Who knows, just 5 minutes later, they were all snapped up. I was quite disappointed as I am looking around for a nice dollhouse for Sarah. She really loves playing with it whenever she sees it, be it at someone else’s home or in a toy store.
This is my first time and last time going to warehouse sales. It is really not worth the hassle, mental stress and all the squeezing just to save a few dollars or more. In my opinion, they usually only have a few limited pieces of really good stuff up for sale, and unless you are one of the first few to enter, there is virtually no chance of you bagging any of them. The rest of the stuff are just common, nothing that you really need to have. So nore more warehouse sales for me. Simply not worth it.

If you don’t mind seconds, try to see if anyone is giving away on freecycle.
This is the link for Singapore’s Freecycle group.

My daughter’s play kitchen and ‘Dollhouse’ is from Freecycle UK, which we are soon putting back into the network.
Good luck!
