Another Fun-filled weekend
May 6, 2007
We had another fun-filled day yesterday. The little girl had been asking to go to a cow farm this whole week. As we had just been to the farms recently, I was not keen for another farm trip. So where did we go to satisfy the little girl’s wish? The Zoo again. We are Friends of the Zoo, so the place is our first choice whenever Sarah asks to see animals.
Just like our last trip to the zoo, this was another fruitful trip. I find one good thing about the zoo is that we will always see something new on every trip. It may be some animals we missed the last time due to timing, or a totally new surprise. This time, we managed to see a chrysalis at the rainforest display. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of Sarah’s fav books, so it was really great that we can show her what a real chrysalis looked like. Of course, we had to go to the Animal World since Sarah has been asking for cows. This time we ventured a little further in and saw more animals like donkeys, the aviary, guinea pigs and rabbits. She was so happy there and kept singing the Old MacDonald song. Did I mentioned that she LOVES animals?
Here are some photos we took at home before going and at the zoo.
We stayed for a long time and left only after 3pm. The little girl napped till 7 and we left to fetch Grandma before going to Causeway Point for dinner. Boy, Sarah must be really hungry. She gobbled up almost 3/4 of the bowl of yong tau foo all by herself. I let her feed herself and we were all surprised she ate so fast. It’s so funny now thinking about it. She just sat quietly eating her food without making any noise and before we realised it, all her noodles were gone.
After dinner, we went browsing at Kiddy Palace, and Sarah had a surprise present. We saw the dollhouse set which I wanted to buy at the Toys R Us sale going for $29.90. Both papa and Grandma were so excited for her. The little girl was equally excited about the dollhouse, but we kept it in the car first, otherwise she will be up the entire night playing with it. Still, she slept only at 11.30pm, a record late night she had.
Weekends like this don’t come by every week. So for days like this when we spend time together as a family and the little girl gets to enjoy herself, I am truly grateful to God for his blessing.
